Sharing my Favorite Businesses over Tea! Week 3

I am pleased to introduce you to Cottage Flowers this week! I discovered this charming floral designer when prom time approached! I had been driving by and admiring the facade and frenchy feel for several weeks, just kept missing them! So  Iphone in hand, I snapped a shot of their hours sign and voila! I never miss them again.
Their shop area feels like a quick trip to a Paris Flower Stall, with the addition of stonework, wire work and vintage woodwork. I just adore the niche wall covered in an old manuscript! It's the perfect backdrop for the mercury glass and curiousity pieces of decor.

In the back corner of the shop is the client seating area, where you can admire the photos of current and previous floral arrangements. As you well know, I just love flowers and since my thumb is very purple I must indeed rely and a flower shop with a sense of style! Cottage Flowers is it! Hydrangea Envy- Party Week 3

I love spending the day at tradeshows, searching for new trends, enjoying all that is offered by such talented people. But I hate preparing for seasonal merchandising 4-6 months ahead! I walked aisle after aisle looking at Christmas ideas!
My question to you this week is... are you a summer hydrangea lover or fall hydrangea lover with the turn of the pinks and blues into jewel tones, the turn of white into ivory and ochre?
This arrangement is wonderful as it blends the colors of autumn with artichokes! What do you think of the french style container?
This arrangement highlights the fall with a more rustic appeal
A large wreath sits on the floor, waiting for another hydrangea lover to take it home. It mixes different shades of ivory  for a monochromatic softness.
These hydrangea topiaries will be the hit of the holiday season!
What hydrangea season is your favorite?

Sharing my Favorite Businesses over Tea ! The Milkhouse Antiques

This week, I have the pleasure of featuring a wonderful business in Glenmore, PA. The Milkhouse Antiques was truly a stumbled upon treasure!
As a new resident of eastern pennsylvania, I enjoy road trips to the Lancaster area and on each trip add a new discovery to my journey. As a small business owner myself, I believe in supporting and referring other business owners and I look forward to stopping in and checking them out for my own personal use too :)
On a road trip last month, I happened across Milkhouse Antiques. The wonderful old building and gardens are what made me turn the car around and pull into their lot. Once in the door, I knew that this would be a frequent destination for me!
35 Vendors carry a consistent feel and vintage quality to this shop. Each corner and booth offer a great array of products for you and your home. You can zip in to check out your favorite dealer and the new offerings or you can wander around for hours enjoying the vingettes. Prices are very reasonable. Enjoy your adventure and keep us posted on your finds!

Hydrangea Envy

I love the way Hydrangeas add a timeless look to photos! Whether the photo is an interior or exterior shot these flowers bring a fresh appeal to them. I admit that I use them quite often in my own photo shoots.

And I am always admiring and saving photos to my laptop of lovely vignettes using hydrangeas!
How cute is this red wagon full of hydrangeas? and how simple the design of the flower pocket but when it's full of french blue hydrangeas it just takes my breath away!
I apologize to the owner of this photo for not being able to give credit! If you know, please shoot me an email
Here's to another week of admiring Hydrangeas and keeping my Envy under control! I hope you'll sip some tea and link your own Hydrangea Envy :)

Stop and Smell the Roses!

One of nature's truly amazing gifts is the rose! I just adore them, and when they boast their heavenly aroma, they are even better!
For the past several years, I've been longing for roses, but we just didn't have a sunny area to plant & enjoy them. But now, yes, I have lots of sun and room for them! As a reward for myself, I've been planning this purchase and traveling around my new neighborhood, pricing and learning. During a discussion with one of my PA Consultants, she mentioned her sister's nursery. I am a big believer in supporting small local businesses, so I asked what was available and you guessed it, I high-tailed it over and purchased 6 glorious rose bushes! You can find them on Facebook Here :)
These three knockout roses, in red, will fill in nicely and smile at my guests as they come to the front door.

I've sketched out an area on the side of the house for these 3 roses. I do want them close to the house. Then have pretty stone in this area with a bird bath with the boxwood outlining the other side of the stone area.
My boys will be helping with that digging, they just don't know it yet. :)  I can't wait to get going so that when I walk around to the front door, I can "Stop and Smell the ROSES!"

Sharing my Favorite Businesses over Tea!

Every Monday I will be featuring a  favorite business! As many of you know, I am fairly new to this area of PA. I do love exploring, shopping and finding new things to look at for inspiration! I also love to refer!
Since I depend on referrals to build my business I know how important it is to refer my friends and family to
the businesses I find and depend on. I hope you enjoy this week's "Featured Business"

The Picket Fence

Beth, the owner, has a fantastic sense of style and puts together wonderful vignettes! Her displays not only catch your eye, but can also help you imagine how this accessory will look in your home. In addition to home accessories, she also carries lovely scarves, jewelry and cute purses. It's a must stop shop if you need a gift!
I know because my Mom, Sister and new friends are all enjoying their gifts from my trips to see what's new at The Picket Fence! (Which also means that her pricing is just right too :)
You can find more contact info about The Picket Fence in my Business Directory

Hydrangea Envy

Hydrangea Envy, is it contagious? Well, I know that I have it bad. I see them everywhere, and just covet them.  Here is the front door of a cute shop in PA, called Black Eyed Susan. It's an interior design haven.
But, I just loved the wreath on the door!
The colors seem to say "late august" to me. Take a look at how the floral designer pulled those greens and golden yellows together! envious! Do you have a favorite wreath for your door this summer? What colors do you gravitate towards?
Please do share your blog link here so we can be envious :)

Charming Home for Sale

For the past 6 years we called this charming house, HOME.  One of the many things I loved about it was the   lighting. With a huge paladian window in the living room, the sun just cast a beautiful glow into the first floor living area. Then in the front of the house on the second floor, I enjoyed another window in our master bedroom loft. This sitting area was the subject of many photo shoots and many cups of tea were also sipped here.
Do you have a special spot in your home to enjoy the sunshine and a nice cup of tea?

Hydrangea Envy

Summer is here, in full swing in fact and that means the gardeners are too!
I do so wish I was one of them! Especially since I just adore flowers. There are three that just pull at my heart strings, Roses, Peonies and Hydrangeas.

It's Hydrangea season all around me and I find that I have an incurable malady. I've self diagnosed of course, because unless you suffer from it, you just don't understand it.

I refer to it as "Hydrangea ENVY" and it is also in full bloom!

So to help me get over it, I'll be sharing photos of these glorious blooms as I come across them. If you find yourself suffering from this affliction, please do join in! Each Tuesday you can share your envy with those that understand.
Let's start the Party Here!
